Phosphorus deficiency in cattle in the Sepik plains

Abstract

It has been obvious from the beginning that the D.P.I. Sepik Plains Livestock Station, 'Urimo', was not good cattle country. This was partly due to the high temperature and humidity and the low quality pastures. However, the main limit on raising cattle is the lack of enough phosphorus, as was shown by Dr. J. Copland of the Veterinary Laboratory, Kila Kila.
