Mechanisation: some points to consider

Abstract

Many extension officers and farmers be­lieve that mechanisation (using machines) is a necessary part of development in an agri­cultural project. However, this may not always be true. The machines that farmers use, such as coffee pulpers, hand sprayers,rotary cultivators, irrigation equipment or tractors all require money to buy them. A farmer should think very carefully before spending money.
