Gulf Province

Abstract

The area of the province is 42 540 sq km. More than one-third of the total area of the province is water and mangrove swamps. The south-east season from January to July brings rainfall throughout the province. Average rainfall in the east is 2 328 mm per annum, although higher rainfall is received towards the west.
