Abstract

There are two main seasons in the Chimbu Province: the northwest season and the south-west season. The north-west season lasts from December to March and brings high rainfall. The southeast season lasts from May to November, and brings mainly dry easterly winds. Because of the rugged terrain of the province, the weather is very variable, and unpredictable. The general trend is that rainfall gradually decreases from east to west.
