A new altitude record and range extension for the Three-toed Swiftlet Collocallia papuensis

Abstract

The Three-toed Swiftlet (Collocallia papuensis) is a relatively unknown species in Papua New Guinea with scattered records in the north as far east as Lae. it normally ranges from sea level to 1800 m a.s.l. but one reported here from Western Province in April 1993 was at 2400 m a.s.l. Note: this species is now Aerodramus papuensis.
