A probable Mayr's Swiftlet Collocalia orientalis leletensis on New Ireland and a review of previous records

Abstract

Mayr's Swiftlet (Collocalia orientalis) is known from only three specimens from New Ireland, Bougainville and the Solomons. Possible sight records are discussed and details of a new sighting on New Ireland in August 1997 are presented.

Note: This species in now known as Aerodramus orientalis.
