Waigeo Island, March-April 2007

Abstract

Waigeo is a large island in the Raja Empat group off the west coast of West Papua. It is accessible by an expensive five-hour boat trip from Sorong, a bit further than Batanta and Salawati, which are more popular birdwatching destinations. An account of a three-week trip in March-April 2007 is presented.
