Propectsfor Palm Oil Industry.

Abstract

Papua New Guinea's oil palm industry began from very humble beginnings since its observation plantings in the 1920s. Following World bank's 1964 recommendation for diversifying the economy, the first commercial plantings of I palm in Hoskins commenced in 1967. The industry comprises of two distinct but adjacent components, the estate and smallholder sub sector.
