Abstract

Most Amblypelta species are polyphagous feeders, including some commercial and food crops causing considerable damage of economic importance. They attack the growing tips, stem, petiole, fruits and nuts of plants by piercing and sucking the sap. Twenty species/subspecies are known to occur throughout the South Pacific and some parts of South East Asia. The host plants of Amblypelta in Papua New Guinea reviewed here.
