Abstract

Marked infestation by P. papuana sporadically occurs in various parts of the Territory, but it is usually worst in those parts where no definite dry period occurs throughout the year. Its attacks are not confined to palms of any particular age, occurring from the young plant with one or more expanded leaves to a palm 50 feet or more in height.
