Abstract

In the course of the patrol six villages in the Kunua area were visited which had not previously been inspected by an Agricultural Instructor, Kunua and district having only been brought under full control in comparatively recent years. Very few regular coco-nut groves exist, but those that do were found to be clean and bearing well. The natives are still somewhat nomadic in their habits, and until fixed centres are established it might be advisable to defer any planting of coco-nuts on a large scale, as maintaining the areas in a satisfacitory condition would present serious difficulties.
