Abstract

The Territory of Papua and New Guinea, which is made up of the Australian Territory of Papua and the United Nations Trust Territory of New Guinea, includes the eastern part of the island of New Guinea and the large islands of New Britain, New Ireland and Bougainville, together with many smaller islands adjacent to them.
