Sweet Potato Storage.

Abstract

The sweet potato Impomoea batatas is one of the basic food crops in the subsistence economy of the people of Papua and New Guinea, and is of predominant importance in the agriculture and diet of the Highlanders. The crop is readily propagated from cuttings or slips and under conditions of reasonable distribution of rainfall it has a growing season extending throughout most of the year.
