Reorganization of Agricultural Extension Service in Papua New Guinea.

Abstract

The need to reorganize agricultural extension services in PNG is discussed. The background of agricultural extension services, past and present and the constrains in the system in PNG are briefly outlined. The future extension management issues and existing reports and recommendations on extension services are highlighted. Policy implications in terms of urgency to re-define extension policy and consistent plans in order to achieve government's desire to improve the quality of life of the farmers is highlighted in the paper.
